About Plan Your Route
Plan Your Route is a free online route planner. It helps you find the best way from one place to another and tells you what the trip involves before you set off: the distance, how long it takes, when you'll arrive and roughly what it will cost in fuel.
What you can do here
- Get turn-by-turn directions for driving, cycling or walking
- Plan trips with up to eight stops along the way
- Estimate fuel cost using your own car's consumption and local fuel prices
- Look up the GPS coordinates of any place in the world
- Share a planned route with a single link
There's no account to create and nothing to install. The planner works in any modern browser on a computer, tablet or phone.
Where our data comes from
Our maps and routes are built on OpenStreetMap, a free map of the world created and maintained by a global community of volunteers. Routes are calculated with the open-source OSRM routing engine, and place search is powered by Photon. We're grateful to everyone who contributes to these projects.
Our guides
Alongside the planner, our blog publishes practical guides on planning trips, working out driving costs and reading maps. We write every article ourselves and update it when things change.
How the site is funded
Plan Your Route is free to use and is supported by advertising. Ads are clearly separated from the planner and our content, and they never affect the routes or estimates we show.
